Namma Veetu Pillai is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film written and directed by Pandiraj and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner Sun Pictures.
The film stars Sivakarthikeyan, Anu Emmanuel and Aishwarya Rajesh, with a supporting cast of Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu and Soori.

Namma Veetu Pillai (NVP)
Top Star Sivakarthikeyan and Pandiraj's Namma Veetu Pillai is set in a genre which will be appealing to audiences of all age groups of people. The film Produced by Sun Pictures, the film has delivered what is expected of a good commercial entertainer.
Character basis Role
The film starts with the character establishment from Bharathiraja's point of view, with character traits for each of main family members, which is maintained and justified throughout the film.
The total movie instead of taking a solid conflict throughout the film (which is the usual way in family based commercial films) the story keeps proceeding with new struggles and conflicts. A simple story line have majorly worked well, as the film packs a punch in all the other crucial elements like comedy and emotions.
The first half film is engaging with back to back quick one-liner comedies which worked well and a special mention to the boy who played Soori's child. He scores more applause than Soori and Yogi Babu. Soori's timing comedy works good in NVP, but SK's troll dialogue on Soori's 'timing' clicks big time.
Flash back
The flashback sequence which sheds more light on Sivakarthikeyan family's past, might have not look completely satisfying to a few set of audiences, but Samuthirakani delivers his usual best in the short role. Actors RK Suresh, Subbu Panchu Arunachalam, Vela Ramamurthy, Archana, Aadukalam Naren and many other strong supporting roles add good values to the story.
The necessary rich visials to the rural drama. Imman's heavy background music during the mass fights and poignant peaks, elevates the emotions which is supplied with the support of good acting and set-up. The songs worked well in the first half, but in the second half, the song sequences are not very engaging, as the film moves slowly, making you restless for the songs to end. 'Enga Annan' and 'Unkooda Porakanum' songs worked well visually.
Sivakarthikeyan comes to NVP after two not-so-favourable outings, and this setting is, clearly, his turf. He aces the emotional scenes, and his camaraderie with Soori, though short, is enjoyable. His romance track with Anu Emmanuel is a direct lift from the sequences of many of his own earlier films, but there is composer Imman’s score and Nirav Shah’s frames to cheer for.
Film Editing
The editing reminded me of the kind of cuts in a director Hari film festivals and friendships blossom within the space of a few scenes and songs, and disappear even faster, but packaging them all neatly in limited time, and not letting the audience get bored, certainly spells ‘task accomplished’ in bold.
